[Tara] Feedback
After the presentation i decided there were a few areas of improvement for my v festival scene, i decided to re render the walkthrough sequence as it seemed like a ride more than a walking sequence, i also added the word fesitval next to the V logo to clarify what the actual festival was for those who are not familiar with it.

Design Ideas
My intial ideas for the blog were to create two animations for tropical wings and V festival. As i wanted to focus mainly on the butterfly area of tropical wings, i have decided that i want to create a butterfly flying through fog in the opening scene.
V fesival is a good choice as it brings many people to essex of all ages, mainly the younger generation.
Tropical wings is highly underated zoo which no one really knows about unless you have been told about it, i want to do this as it will help promote this small zoo and encourage tourism

[Paul] Feedback
after receiving some feedback from Elli, Jo and Richard, i decided to lighten the intro and outro to help make the website address more easily seen and draw the eye to it, and the brightened scene is more uplifting as the old one was a bit dull and discouraging.

[Luke] Group Work
In terms of contribution to the group work the animations I created all served a purpose collectively with the other group members work to form an informative animation. Aswell as making the animations I was involved in discussions on the editing process within Premier Pro. As a group we decided on certain aspects to do with the final video which would make it a better production.
[Luke] Changes Made
After our presentation which took place I decided to make some changes to my animations and in particular the rollercoaster scenes. The reason why I decided to do this was because in relation to the rest of the groups animations it did not blend in aswell as first thought.
As part of the changes I created a new environment for the rollercoaster station and added a background give the scene some life. Also I edited the materials on the carriages so that they mixed in with the rest of the scene.
For the Giraffe sequence I made sure that the scene was more simple and I also inserted a detailed background to make the scene more complete.

[Paul] Final Video
after getting all the render files together, is started to create the video.
i also took the sound clip ben had found and edited it down to fit with the video. i cut out all the instrumental bits
the sound lifted the animation and made it feel more upbeat.
it was difficult to link the animations together as the clip on the whole were quite different but i feel i did a good job. guess we will have to see tomorrow after the presentation.
as ben didn't have enough time to create an introduction to the animation i simplified the outro by taking the tag line and karts out, this gives continuity to the beginning and end of the animation

[Paul] Outro scene
the go karts drift across the scene and the video is left with the visit essex logo and the tag line "what will you do in essex"
this was quick and fun to make and matches the other scenes very well. the viewers eye is first drawn to the logo which advertises the visit essex website and as the karts skid past the eye is drawn down to the tag line engaging with the viewer.

[Ben] Soundtrack Idea
After a discussion between the group I suggested a piece of music which I felt would be good to use as a soundtrack for our animation.
The song is called 'Rip it up' by Jet which can be found here

[Paul] Tag line
after seeing the visit/move to california advert where at the end Arnold Schwarzenegger says "when can you start?" i felt we need to add something at the end of the animation to end the animation and engage with the viewer.
again while driving i thought of the tag line " What will you do in essex? " i think it is effective as a proposition and gets the viewer thinking.

[Luke] Design Ideas
The two places in Essex which I have chosen to do for my animations are:
Adventure Island
Colchester Zoo
Both of the attractions are very appealing to the younger generation which is what our intended audience has been set to. Both have interesting features which can be expanded upon and made into an interesting animation to persuade the viewers to come and visit. I will create each of the animations separately and receive regular feedback from my group members on changes or improvements which I could make to enhance the project.

[Paul] transition idea
as we are all doing 2 animations each we needed a way to link the clips together, as the clips are goings to be fast active and short we needed a way to link them together that mirrored this feel.
on the drive into uni today i had a eureka moment:
as each is fast paced it would be cool to have a way of changing between each quickly. so my idea is to white out the camera and then fade the camera back in to the new scene.
each scene would have a different relevant way of doing it
for my monster truck scene i will have the truck start to jump up the line of cars and the headlights shine into the camera.
and the go kart scene will have the checkered flag wave through the camera.

[Paul] Texture Decision
as a group we agreed to keep the texture simple and go for a cartoony realistic effect. using block colours and ray traced shadows to cast the realistic shadows across the scene

[Paul] personal design ideas
i have decided to do my 2 animations on:
Arena Essex
and
Lakeside Go Karting.
both are in close vecinity of each other, although as far as i know there is only one stock car/bangerracing/ monster truck arena in essex i know there are a number of go kart tracks in essex so i wont specifiy the location but the layout will be based on the lakeside track.

[Paul] design ideas
initial design ideas:
after the presentation and looking throguht the visit essex booklet. we found it was quite clear why the average age of a tourist in essex was 40-65
so as a group we decided to aim our animation at our age range 18-30 with fun, adventurous and active locations in essex.
activities such as go karting, paint balling and themeparks.
